This is a pretty great interview. The interviewer “Dick Flash” is Steve Coogan (I think) possibly best known from the Factory Records movie, “24 Hour Party People”.
There is a good bit of Meta at play here as well as just an old fashioned piss take. On one hand, Eno is makes fun of over intellectual theorists and himself. On the other hand, all the questions are being asked by himself. Mr. Flash is in a great character in the sense that really the only interview worth doing is Dick Flash interviewing Dick Flash.
A bit of trivia – did you know there is an episode of “King of the Hill” titled, 24 Hour Propane People?
I think that is Eno himself as “Dick Flash”.
