I was over at <a href=\"http:\/\/greg.org\/archive\/2012\/01\/25\/i_wanna_the_kelly_welt_chico_an_everthinisinnit.html\" target=\"_new\">greg.org<\/a> recently and stumbled over the post about the Elsworth Kelly issue of Die Welt, in which every illustration in the newspaper is a Kelly image.  After kicking around on Die Welts website I realized that there are probably electronic back issues available of the paper.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.matthewlangley.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/blog_kelly.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.matthewlangley.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/blog_kelly.jpg?w=500\" alt=\"\" title=\"blog_kelly\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1184\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A few moments later I discovered that George Baselitz had also done an issue for them as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.matthewlangley.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/blog_baselitz.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.matthewlangley.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/blog_baselitz.jpg?w=500\" alt=\"\" title=\"blog_baselitz\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1185\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So color me impressed. Pretty interesting take on the use of \u201cHigh Art\u201d in the arena that is usually looking for context specific visual documents, and in its place we get Kelly and Baselitz. I never really thought that a Kelly artwork would be a good for the news about soccer.
